Merck and Aetna pair population health with risk-sharing, in two deals

In America, pay-for-performance pricing deals involving pharmaceutical brands and insurers have historically come up short. So why do Merck and Aetna — one of the latest such pairs to enter a deal using value as the basis for payment — believe their agreement will fare any better?
